3rd Year Portraiture

Over the last couple of weeks, the 3rd year Art students have been practicing drawing the human form. One of the most difficult skills in Art is to achieve a likeness of a person through drawing and the 3rd years have shown some exceptional talent. Well done! Below are some examples of the work!

Fringe Festival 2011

No Man's Land
Fergal Mc Cathy

The Absolut Fringe Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival and will be showcasing for 16 days in venues across Dublin.  Fergal Mc Cathy is a performance artist who has made an art installation of a man made desert island, which will appear on the Liffey river overnight, where Mc Cathy will camp amid the sand and palm trees that accompany his installation.  Be sure to keep an eye out for his interesting piece of work and wish him well in this terrible weather we have been having lately.  To check out other events happening at the Fringe Festival click on the link below.

First Week of September 2011

Vincent Van Gogh
Ross McCabe Ist Year

We are now in to our second week of the new school year and all of the art students at CCC have got off to a flying start!  The First Year students have displayed great aptitude and talent in their drawing skills portrayed in their shoe drawing project.  The Second Year students are working away on drawing natural forms and have demonstrated a great development in their skill since last year and the Third Year students are busy practicing life drawing and are all displaying great dedication and flare!

In Senior cycle the LC1 and LC2 classes are working hard on their still life drawing and are back in full swing!  It's proving to be a great start to the new term. Keep the good work up!
